Our director, Esteban Vera, led the meeting with professors Darío Pérez from the Institute of Physics (IFIS) at PUCV and Pablo Meza from Universidad de la Frontera (UFRO), in which members of PUCV laboratories linked to the project also participated.
This meeting took place intending to review the objectives of our Project Anillo ATE 220022 “SEETRUE”, led by Dr. Vera, co-directed by Dr. Pérez, both from PUCV and with the participation of Dr. Meza (UFRO) and Dr. Marcos Díaz (UChile). Researchers from the laboratories of each professor actively collaborate in this innovative project.
The event, held at the Curauma Campus of PUCV, allowed the participation of laboratories from the same university; the Atmospheric and Statistical Optics Laboratory (@SOL) from IFIS and Optolab from EIE.
The activity began with a presentation by Professor Vera, in which he recalled the main objectives of SEETRUE, highlighting the major milestone we will achieve during this second year of the project, the construction of an Optical Ground Station at the Curauma Campus.
The station will consist of an observatory equipped with all the necessary equipment to observe the cosmos, not necessarily focused on celestial bodies, but on satellites and elements in our sky that can be considered space debris.
After the initial presentation, the Communication and Dissemination Coordinators of the Anillo presented the plans they have established for each of their areas to be carried out with SEETRUE, requiring the collaboration of all project members.
At the end, the members of @SOL gave a tour of their facilities, showing some experiments on their optical tables, and explaining what they are currently working on.
The day ended with the entire team visiting the site where the Optical Ground Station will be installed, celebrating the start of this important milestone for our project, impacting PUCV and the other participating universities.
