Dr. Nelson Diaz and our director Dr. Esteban Vera traveled to Miramar Beach, FL, United States to be a part of the IEEE Photonics Society – Research and Applications of Photonics in Defense (RAPiD) 2023 conference.
This event, which started on the 11th and ended 13th of September, brings the government, academy, and industry together, creating an instance to present investigations and novel technologies that offer solutions to different safety and defense challenges, seeking to build international collaboration in these areas.
Dr. Nelson Diaz, who is currently working on his postdoctoral research in our Optoelectronics Lab participated in the conference with a presentation entitled ‘Compressive spectral-video by optimal 3D-sphere packing’ in the session called ‘Spectral, Polarimetric and Multimodal Imaging‘ where he let everyone know about the new model that he and the team designed and researched based on 3D sphere packing.
You can check out the proceeding of the conference here, and also his full paper containing the whole research on the matter here.
Every opportunity to attend these conferences allows us to keep networking and communicating the quality of the novel findings that we develop in Optolab, positioning Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, and also the School of Electrical Engineering worldwide, which makes us very proud.
